Spondylolisthesis
Spondylolisthesis occurs when a stress fracture weakens the bone so much that it is unable to maintain its proper position and the vertebra can start to shift out of place. If too much slippage occurs, the bones may begin to press on nerves and surgery may be necessary to correct the condition.

Spine Fractures
Fracture of one or more parts of the spinal column of the middle or lower back is a serious injury usually caused by trauma such as with a car crash, fall, sports accident or act of violence. The spinal cord may be injured depending on the severity of the fracture. Symptoms include back pain made worse by movement and, in some cases, numbness, tingling, weakness or bowel/bladder dysfunction. When you fracture the thoracic and lumbar spine, surgery or bracing is often necessary.
